Strategic targets 2010-2014

The EIF's strategic targets for the next five years aim above all to address the concerns of the academic and professional worlds. The goal is to make financial research more useful, more focused, and more international.

  Focused
To look closely at what partners need, so that research efforts are focused and means are allocated to priority topics in a post-crisis financial environment. Emphasis this year has been on market liquidity, governance, and finance and sustainable development, all of which lie at the heart of current problems related to ending the crisis.
  Useful
To strengthen coordinated research actions, with the aim of improved readability and interoperability for easier use by the profession. This coordination is carried out mainly through improved interaction among the three operating structures of the Paris Europlace research center: the Europlace Institute of Finance and the Risk Foundation, on the one hand, and the Louis Bachelier Institute on the other, with greater synergies in their daily work together.
  International
To open the foundation to international cooperation, on the basis of the remarkable results obtained over the last fve years with French universities and top graduate schools. EIF partnerships should be strengthened with European universities and research centers, including those in eastern Europe, America and Asia, in order to enrich the structural network of high-level researchers in banking, finance, and insurance on an international scale.
